Keyword Research Is Only One Part Of SEO

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by Tom on 24-01-2009

Just to be sure that everyone understands that doing proper keyword research is not the only thing that needs to be done to optimize your website or blog to gain first page results with the search engines.

Quality back links are also a necessary part of the equation too. Getting links back to your website or blog might seem to be a hard thing to do what with contacting other webmasters with relevant, high PR sites and either begging or paying them to link to your site. This is not really necessary though.

There are article sites that have a high PR (page rank) that you can submit relevant articles to in their relevant categories that will give you a link back to your site in the resource box at the end of the article.

There are article submitters that you can use to get your articles out for distribution to multiple directories at the same time. A great place to learn about article submissions is at Article Marketing Automation an article distribution network that creates back links like crazy.

You can also go to forums that are relevant to your subject matter and post in them with a signature that is a link to your site. Every time you post it automatically creates a link to your site.

Linking to your websites or blogs is one of the most powerful things that you can do to gain prominence within the search engine rankings and should be taken very seriously and worked on every day or whenever possible.

Tips For New Website Builders

Filed Under (SEO For New Websites) by Tom on 23-10-2008

Do you have a website in mind that you want to build and that is going to set the world on fire (not to mention your bank account)? Prior to building it, there are a few important things to take into consideration that will help get your site listed on page one of some of the popular search engines.

By following these SEO tips for you, you will be giving yourself a much better chance and put you much closer than 75% of the other websites that are simply put up on the internet without any planning at all. So, before you create your site, plan it out.

Here are a few SEO tips for you to gain superiority over a lot of the others.

SEO Tip #1. Finding a niche by doing keyword research and narrowing down your main, broad keyword to one that is more targeted and more relevant to what your site will be about. Here’s an example: If your main subject and broad keyword is basket weaving for instance, that’s a very broad keyword with a lot of search results and is very competitive. However, if you were to chose something like “basket weaving instructions” or “learning basic basket weaving” this will cut the competition down dramatically and it also contains the main keyword “basket weaving”.

SEO Tip #2. Once you settle on a specific keyword phrase, choose a domain name using those specific  keywords. As in our example above, you could choose  learning-basic-basket-weaving.com. Finding the right keyword and selecting a domain name shouldn’t be done too quickly. Taking your time here will make a huge difference in the long run.

SEO Tip #3. Once you’ve chosen a broad keyword, go to the Google Keyword Research Tool and type it in there to get keyword suggestions that are less competitive. Make sure that the keyword phrase you select has over 100 searches a month. Next, take the keyword phrase that you’ve selected and type into google search with quotation marks to see how competitive it is. The results should be under 10,000. If they are higher, then go back to the keyword research tool and try another phrase. This type of research is very time consuming, typing in hundreds of keywords just to see what the results are. Another viable alternative is to get a good keyword tool that will automate the process and get your statistics for you almost instantly.

SEO Tip #4. Now that you have your site built with your keyword domain, its time to optimize it with a title, description and keywords. adding your title is very easy and should contain your main keyword in it and be short. The meta description should also contain your main keyword once or twice and be a short description of the site itself. The meta keywords should, of course contain your main keyword plus other closely related keywords that you found using the Google Keyword Research Tool.

SEO Tip #5. In the body text of your site, use your main keyword phrase near the top of the text on the page and near the end of the page a few times. The rule of thumb here is to not over use it but to only have it be between 3% and 5% of the total text on the front page of your website. This will give your page visitor a good first impression and make the search engine spiders happy too.

Linking Strategies to boost your site

Filed Under (seo tips) by Tom on 19-07-2008

Link Popularity is one of the ways search engines determine how important your website is, and where it should rank in their results. Submitting articles to the article directories is one of the best ways to create links and get traffic to your site. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Linking methods are covered in great detail in the training section of the Niche Blitzkrieg method.

Posting on forums with a link to your site is another great way to create links. Make sure that the articles you submit and the forums you post on are relevant to what the subject matter of your website is. Relevence is very important to your search engine rankings.

Classified ads are another way of creating links to your website. For every classified ad that you write with a link to your website in it, and once again with relevent text, that will get another link to your site. These are relatively easy ways of getting quality links that will count with the search engines

4 Tips to help with your SEO

Filed Under (seo tips) by Tom on 14-07-2008

Here are some things that you should be doing to get your site up in the search engines.

1.  Open up a blog specific to your primary business and post to it every few days. Use the website title for your blog user name and use the keywords from your main website in every blog post that you do. you only need to do a paragraph for each post.

2.  Write an article every 2 or 3 days. They should be between 300 and 500 words long and be informational so that the readers can gain some knowledge about a related industry or whatever your website is about. Don’t advertise a specific business in it, but put links at the bottom in your resource box to your primary website and to your blog.

3  Write a press release once a week about your primary business and any little thing that happens with it like new trainings etc… this is written in the third person as if you are a reporter doing a press release on your company.

4.  Post to online forums like the warrior forum and create a signature tag with a link to your website or blog that will show up every time you post, You dont need to talk about your business, people will click on the links in your signature and go to your site. This will create links to your sites and start getting traffic to them.

Keywords are the Key

Filed Under (Keywords) by Tom on 09-07-2008

Keywords are the first place to start in any Search Engine Optimization or website marketing campaign. If your not sure which keywords are being typed into the search bar by people that you want to have visit your Web site, then you can’t expect to market through the search engines to those people.

The term keyword is also used as a short version of keyword phrase. When we use the term keyword, it means the word, or words, that are typed into a search engine by someone looking for a specific item and carrying out a search for that item.

The fact is that almost all searches done now are not just single word searches, most people using the search engines now type more detailed words into their searches.

This is the main reason why you should know the keyword phrases that people use when searching for specific products or services like the ones that are promoted on your Web site.

Also consider this…

• Without knowing your keywords, you can’t optimize your Web site properly.

• Without knowing your keywords, you won’t know which keywords to put in links pointing to your site.

• Without knowing your keywords, you won’t know which keywords to bid on in Pay Per Click programs.

So, what happens if all you do is to guess at the keyword phrase you need without doing some indepth keyword research? Basically, you will encounter a couple of problems.

• Some if not all of the keywords on your list will be more or less irrelevant, meaning people simply are not using them in when they do their searches.

• You’ll be missing those keywords that people are typing into the search bar for your specific products or services.

Click Here to go to the video on keyword research which will help you find those phrases that get searched for and have little competition from other similar websites.
